QUEST PROGRESSION GUIDE
How to follow Scrap Mechanic 1.0 quests and rewards
The quest index joins official tracker text to released progression rules. It separates story quests, builder jobs, and farmer progression so a displayed objective, reward, or next quest is tied to evidence rather than a guessed walkthrough order.
Choose the quest type before searching for a name
The current release registers 46 public quests across main-story, builder, and farmer flows. Filtering by type is useful when similarly themed objectives belong to different systems or when a job does not advance the main story.
Open a quest page for the complete evidence. Index cards summarize objective and reward counts, while the detail page preserves official stage text, live tracker messages, scripted build instructions, and confirmed relationships where the game publishes them.
Tracker messages and fixed progress steps are not interchangeable
The normalized catalog contains 163 visible tracker messages and 66 fixed progress steps. A dynamic message can reflect live game state without representing a permanent numbered stage, so forcing every message into a linear checklist would invent progression.
Confirmed predecessor and successor links are shown only when released definitions provide the relationship. The current graph contains 18 explicit successor links; the absence of a link is not filled with an assumed order based on nearby names.
Read reward rules before choosing a completion order
The quest data publishes 60 fixed public rewards. Those can be associated with their actual quest. A separate set of six Scrapper builder jobs chooses an ordered reward using the number of eligible jobs already completed.
For those six jobs, the reward belongs to the completion position rather than to one permanent quest name. A guide that assigns the first reward to one specific job can therefore be wrong if the player completes the jobs in a different order.
Use the quest guide as a state check, not a substitute save file
Compare the objective text and tracker state on the detail page with what your HUD currently shows. Then inspect rewards and a confirmed next quest before leaving the area or spending a newly unlocked resource.
World events, NPC state, inventory, and previously completed objectives still live in the save. If the displayed official text matches but progression does not advance, report the exact quest, visible tracker message, version, and recent action instead of trying an unrelated pre-1.0 workaround.
Connect a quest to items and current guidance
Quest names, visible objectives, rewards, and links are joined from the released 1.0.0.867 quest and localization data.
