Information handled by the site
The public database does not require an account. The hosting platform may process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamp, and security signals to deliver the site and prevent abuse.
Crafting goals and owned-material values are processed in your browser. Shareable goal values may appear in the page URL when you choose or edit a plan.
Analytics, cookies, and advertising
No empty advertisement area is rendered without a valid advertising configuration. The site uses Google Analytics to measure visits and page use. Google may process page URLs, referrers, browser and device details, IP-derived approximate location, and related analytics data under Google’s policies. Vercel hosting may process security and operational data under Vercel’s policies.
Vercel hosting and Web Analytics may process aggregate page, referrer, device, approximate-region, security, and operational data under Vercel’s policies.
Google AdSense loads only after valid publisher settings and explicit account, content-rights, consent-platform, and traffic-quality confirmations. When enabled, Google and third-party vendors may place or read cookies, or use web beacons, IP addresses, browser and device information, and advertising identifiers to deliver, limit, secure, personalize, and measure ads.
Where permitted and consented, Google advertising cookies may personalize ads from prior visits. Otherwise, non-personalized, limited, or contextual ads may be used. Visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland will be shown a Google-certified CMP before eligible ad requests; other regional controls apply where required.
External links and data retention
Links to Steam, Scrap Mechanic announcements, and other external services are governed by those services’ policies. Following a link tells that service your browser made a request.
The site operator does not receive the game installation files used by maintainers to generate a release snapshot. Production uses only normalized data and optimized assets committed with the site.
Your choices
- Use the database without creating an account.
- Clear planner URL parameters or browser storage at any time.
- Manage or withdraw advertising consent through the consent panel when advertising is enabled.
- Control personalized Google ads in Google Ads Settings, review Google’s partner-site data use, or use browser privacy controls.
- Contact the site operator with a privacy or data-rights request.

What stays in your browser and what can reach a service
Different website features handle data in different places. Understanding the boundary between browser-local tool state, ordinary hosting requests, production analytics, advertising, external links, and email helps you choose what to use and what to share.
Blueprint analysis and planner state are not the same data flow
A blueprint selected or pasted into the analyzer is parsed by page code in the browser. The file contents are not submitted to a ScrapMech Wiki upload endpoint. The analyzer’s report disappears with the current page state unless the user separately saves or shares it.
Planner goals can be represented in a shareable URL, so the item slugs and requested quantities may become part of that URL. Owned-material values remain browser-session state and are not added to the shared planner URL.
Opening a page still creates an ordinary web request
Like other hosted sites, requesting a page or asset can expose technical request information to the hosting infrastructure, such as an IP address, time, requested path, and user-agent details used for delivery, reliability, and security.
Browser-local processing does not make the entire website an offline application. It means the selected blueprint content or the stated local field is processed locally after the page code has loaded.
Analytics, advertising, email, and external links have separate boundaries
Production analytics and configured advertising can involve their respective providers under the conditions described in the policy. Preview and local development behavior may differ from the production deployment.
Following an external link sends a request to the destination site. Choosing the contact email link opens the user’s email service, where the provider and the message recipient process the information the user decides to send.
Practical privacy choices for these tools
Remove sensitive names or embedded information from a blueprint before opening it if the file should not be visible on the device in use. Avoid putting private notes into shareable URL fields, and review the address bar before copying a planner link.
Browser controls, extensions, network settings, and provider account choices may offer additional controls for cookies, analytics, ads, history, or email. Clearing browser data can also remove local or session-based tool state.
